speed sensor?

Is there a difference between the wheel Speed Sensor and Vehicle Speed Sensor?
Getting conflicting Info

Yes, but they're related.

The wheel speed sensors are the physical sensors in the wheels (front hubs, or diff output shafts on the rear) and are wired to the ABS/VDC/TCS computer.

The ABS/VDC/TCS computer uses these readings for ABS things, but also outputs the vehicle speed to the cluster via CANBUS, the cluster then sends the signal to the ECU.

The vehicle speed sensors are mounted on the rear axle, one one each side and control the signal sent to the speedometer gauge.
