Crank no start, bad timing?

Hey everyone. So I've got a G35 coupe that's got a crank no start. I've got fuel, spark and compression. I had a mechanic come out and look at it and he said all signs point to it being timing is off. Would this cause a crank no start, and does his diagnosis sound correct?
