Experienced clutch slip, replaced clutch + FW
Okay cool, and it’s normal to hear that under light acceleration until about 2k rpm? Only other thing I’m concerned about is the “gl5” because I think my trans feels a little notchy now. I think it was in this thread I posted the pic of it? Didn’t see anything about it being a gl4/gl5
I have the Z1 lightest weight flywheel and I hear chatter up to about 1800rpm. Personally I would drain the GL5 and put it in the differential since it's fine for use there, then put GL4 in the tranny. You're probably due for a diff service anyways yeah? It's got the same maintenance interval as the tranny.
Nothing wrong with draining that fluid out into a clean container and putting it in the differential, it's still practically brand new.

Yes, I could prolly use a fluid swap in my diff. I’m at 95k miles on my car, and fluid is probably factory. How many quarts does it take? And is it the same procedure as the trans? (Fill until the fluid seeps out the fill hole) I called my local dealership and they’re saying they don’t carry gl5 and the closest place with some gl4 is Sacramento. I’m in Minnesota. So he tried to place an order for 4 qts of the 75-85 gl4 but apparently it won’t let him because the gl5 supersedes the gl4 or some bs. He said he looked it up online and trying to tell me the 75-85 gl5 they have will work. I asked if it’s a gl4/gl5 and he said he doesn’t know. He recommended if I want to stay with gl4 then I should get a different brand like royal purple.
I just use Valvoline, works great.
Yes the procedure for the rear diff is the same as the transmission, it only takes about 1.5 quarts for the diff so you'll have plenty of oil.
