Pilot Bushing replacement?

Hello I have a 2005 G35 I recently blew my Cd009 n replaced it with a 8, i know that the cd008 is the weaker of the trans but It was available n the price was right. I got the trans mounted and in but when I try to put the car in gear while the vehicles on it feels like I’m pushing it into a wall.
I had already did a clutch not to long ago with a z1 mild performance kit. So I don’t think it’s my clutch, when the cars off I can flow through each gear easily and even start it while it’s in gear. But it won’t allow me to shift into any gear once i come out of 1st. Anyone had this problem before?

Something isn't releasing the transmission. Did you change clutch/flywheel at all? Did you use the existing clutch fork? Did you use the existing throwout bearing? Did you verify you have the correct length of clutch fork pivot ball which comes in two sizes depending on which clutch fork you have.

My guess would be you didn't verify the pivot ball length, 2003-2004.5 used a stamped steel fork and a long pivot ball, 2004.5-2007 used a cast steel fork and a shorter pivot ball.

Your clutch pedal releases all the way to the top right? Or does it only come about halfway back up?

I didn’t swap the clutch or flywheel, both were replaced about 5 months ago. I also did replace the throw bearing and reused the fork from my 05
CD009 when replacing my current trans

I didn’t know that they made different length pivot *****, the trans I got is out of a 03 coupe. I thought they were all the same except for how the synchros are made. So that would make sense on why it doesn’t want to engage, because it’s not reaching far enough right?

yes it releases at the top like normal and has pressure behind the pedal when pressing

Yeah my guess would be the pivot ball is the issue. The 2003 definitely used the stamped steel clutch fork and long pivot ball. 2005 was the cast steel fork and short pivot ball.

So I tried changing the pivot ball but that didn’t do anything. My shift linkage is bent do you think that could be the problem, if not then i think imma have to get a new trans

Start with the shifter, maybe consider an upgraded one like the B&M, or the stock one from your CD009.

that was next step, I was looking into a coolerworx shifter. My boy got one and I really liked the feel of it when shifting. I’ve also heard that I could possibly be my clutch since it goes into gear while the car is off but not on

If it won't go into gear with the engine running then the transmission is still turning, thus something is going on inside the bellhousing preventing the clutch from releasing.

Since you didn't touch the clutch/flywheel/pressure plate and it worked with the previous transmission that only leaves the clutch fork, pivot ball, throwout bearing, and the TO bearing release spring.

It's also possible something was maybe damaged on the clutch slave cylinder? However if you haven't messed with the slave then I'd guess it's probably not the issue either.

Also possibly the rubber dust boot for the clutch fork, there is an ARROW that must point towards the front of the transmission/car.

The clutch slave cylinder should move the clutch fork almost exactly 1 inch, measure the throw while someone else depresses the clutch pedal.

As for a bent shift rod, doesn't explain why you can get it into gear with the engine not running but you can while the engine is running.
