6MT Swap

Hey has anyone ever done a 6 Speed Manual Transmission swap into a Automatic G35? If so how much was the cost and how hard was it to get the parts?

Thanks in advance...I tried a search and nothing came up....Thanks...

Let's see:

Used 6MT $1000
Used 6MT flywheel $100
New clutch, TO bearing $300
Used master cylinder and lines $200
6MT ECU and programmed to your key fob ~$1000+
Used 6MT brake pedal assembly $100
Used 6MT clutch pedal assembly $100
New 6MT upper/lower console assembly $400
New 6MT shifter, shift boot, shift **** $300+
Install and wiring headaches $1500+

Total price: ~$5000+

Yes, it would be better to sell your car and buy a used 6MT. Don't waste you time.

I've seen it done in a maxima, and it was a gutwrenching amount of work (cost aside). And even then, it just wasn't the same

yeah it's waste of money and etc but i am kinda person who hates to get used cars. (had bad exp. w/ used cars)
5000 sounds ok to me
and btw, 5000 for OEM swapping...think of aftermarkets!

You think used car is more headache than a swap? I have friends did a MT swap and a few of Engine swap. Let me tell you that there's more chance of things going wrong or breaking. It also depends on who's doing it and how many thousands of swap this person did!!!

When compared to the swap idea, I think you would be better off with trading in on a new 6MT.

Don't forget the resale value, I don't think anyone will want to buy anautomatic converted to a 6mt car....at least not for very much.

We're completing this swap on a Z now.

DaveB, no disrepect, but those are BS prices.

Just some of the items we got:
Used 6MT - $700
6MT ECU - $150
Install price - WAY cheaper than $1500. Maxima guys do it for $400.
And so on and so forth.

I'll have a big post in a couple of weeks on my350z describing everything that went into that swap.

Agree on better selling 5AT and buying 6MT. We don't have this option, too much money dumped into that Z.
