Are you looking for track or daily use and driveability?

Perhaps you should just get a 6MT VLSD with the 3.5 gears from a junkyard...you'll get what you want and the step up in gears as well. When you go for anything other than the VLSD, they are truly designed for track, and streetability suffers immensely.
Try calling the guys at 350evo.com - talk to BJ or John...they'll be honest with you on a recommendation.

That might be correct for most cases but not all. The quaife is a torsen type lsd and has no cluth packs to engage/disengage. Therefore it is seemless in operation, does not make noise like clutch types, and thus does not compromise streetability at all. In fact, I remember reading a few reviews of people who had put in the quaife into their 350Z's and they said it felt just like the stock VLSD until you really started to push it and the Quaife did it's work. Also the ATS Carbon LSD has had favorable reviews as well regarding noise, streetability, and how it hooks up in a much smoother manner than say the Nismo LSD.

My suggestion is that unless you get the stock VLSD for really cheap, don't bother with it. You would be much better going with an aftermarket VLSD performance wise for a little more money. If you are concerned about noise and streetability then get the Quaife or perhaps the ATS Carbon.
