Clunk into 2nd

Clunk into 2nd
I just passed 10k mark on my G. I got this annoying clunk when shifting from 1st to 2nd. It doesn’t matter if I do it quick/slow, hard/low acceleration. Most noticeable when the tranny is still cold, it was worst in the winter. But even now with warm weather and after driving awhile I still hear it. Except for that is works fine, just wondering as to that damn sound?! Doesn’t happen in any other gear. I actually had a Infiniti guy drive it awhile ago when I went for service, he said it was normal. Btw, I felt like giving the guy a beat down, some old fart, first he almost let it roll into a pole because he couldnt get it into reverse (took him 4 tries!) and then making very hard shifts like hes new at it Just a Nissan tranny notchiness? or something else going on?

G35Gnome,
I have read where others are experiencing the same as yourself. I have some 15k miles on my G . . . And I have not heard/felt a "clunk" when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. However, that does not mean that it does not exist. Perhaps, I am less sensitive to this issue. If possible, I would reccommend driving another G for comparison purposes.

As far as I can tell there is no performance impact when it happens, doesnt cause any shift weirdness. It doesnt happen all the time, sometimes doesnt happen all day, then it comes back out of the blue. It is not grinding, just a clunk after you push it to 2nd. I can both hear it and feel it in the shifter, kinda like metal on metal feel, but I could be wrong. Anyway I will drive my buddys 05 G coupe with 3k miles to see how the shifter feels.
