It's a very good idea to change periodically.
The venting is a pinhole. Contiminated fluid has an obvious tell. it gets cloudy.

If it's clear it's good.

I ended up not using the Motive bleeder for the clutch fluid. The cap kept popping off when I started to pressurize the system.

And yes, you should change your clutch fluid. Brake fluid (clutch fluid) by nature is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture. This will cause the fluid to break down and not perform as well. When the fluid gets very hot the moisture it has absorbed starts to boil. What happens then....rapid expansion and unwanted pressurization in the system. Also, internal corrosion can occur. If you track your car or drive it hard then the fluid will get hot enough for this to occur.

NOOOOOO, those will not work. Those are for the oil drain plug. The tranny/differential drain plugs are much larger in diameter. You can always re-use the washers but I went ahead and bought new ones.

Bigd2k6, you won't wreck! Also, we'll have plenty of sweaty helmets for you to share!

Closed system. Unless a seal goes bad and you leak or suck air there is really no reason to change it.
just like any other fluid in your vehicle, it has a service interval.

every other year is generally accepted for hydraulic fluid. (brake, and clutch)

Service Manual says 25 ft-lb on all the filler and drain plugs for manual trans and diff.

And also, I went to Nissan to get new washers for the plugs and the lady couldn't find them in the system. So she grabbed a service guy and he said they never change them even at the dealer so I just reused them as well.
