Just ordered 4 quarts of Redline MT-90 75w90 Manual Transmission Fluid and a suction siphon gun pump. Soon as this gets in I'm doing my manual trans drain and refill, I'm at 41k almost so I hope I can notice a difference.

With my Miata, it made a big difference to the shift feel when I changed the stock oil in the shift turret to Redline. IIRC, the oil level from Mazda was low for many cars.

I wonder if the same can be done to our G's to improve the shift feel.

 

Can I use Redline MT-90 75w90 for the diff fluid? If not what do you recommend? Preferably something I can pick up at the parts store and not have to wait for in the mail. thanks

Thanks, I actually ordered this, I got the mt-90 for the trans and the 75w-90 gear oil for the diff. Now I just got to do this but its hot as **** outside...

 

Trans and diff complete and I DO notice that it shifts quite smoothly now

 

Can i put Dot 4 Synthetic in the cluth fluid?

 

Yes, just don't use DOT 5.

Where can i buy a lil pump for the clutch fluid exchange? i have one for the diff's all ready.

although I just noticed a slight balk going into 2nd gear, it is not worrisome...but....at 45000 mi. I figured this would be a good time to replace trans oil...now after reading your article I am really curious if your "GRIND" has gone away?

 

My car had the 1-2 grind even after I did the flush/change, but only in cold weather.

 

Its the Redline, its not compatible with our trannies, i had the exact same problem when running Redline, along with many others, search things like synchro grind, tranny problems, tranny grinding and youll see others who have experienced the same problem with Redline

i reccommend using Amsoil, thats what i run now and it solved my problem, also im an Amsoil dealer so i can getcha a deal, but Amsoil and the OE Nissan fluid are the only things compatible, and with Nissan fluid at $87 i think Amsoil is deff the better deal

 

yeah. ALL synthetic gear oil is BAD....I have the only one that is any good. In answer to that YOU would be the last one I would buy anything from
