That setup did not work and caused a vacuum leak. I just caught on to it today because it was a very small leak and the RPM was still somewhat steady dropping and raising only slightly but at very long intervals.

The driver side valve cover is venting under the car now.

This is the only code that should come on from removing the canister.

This is how it looks like on an emissions machine. Osiris disables all DTCs and SES light

UPDATE
rcdash who has Osiris said that Osiris will simply disable the SES light but the DTC for the EVAP system on a emissions machine will show NOT READY and it will not pass.

And also I can confirm now that the fuel system is dependent on pressure build up in the tank in order to crank the car only 2-3 times to start. Venting the gas tank constantly will cause the car to crank longer because of low fuel pressure. This problem does not occur with an aftermarket fuel pump.

Andrei, with your experience with this whole situation, would you recommend that I just mount the EVAP can vertically just to avoid the hassle and possible SES lights and possible problems with Emissions Testings? I really want to do a Dual exhaust conversion but I really want to make it as easy as possible....

Yes, just don't use any mufflers at the end and use exhaust tips only. There is plenty of room under the car, in the middle for 2 canister mufflers with dual inlets and dual exists and you can also use resonators along the middle of the car. There is actually plenty of room to have the flow of a dual 3" and the quietness of a stock exhaust without canister mufflers at the end like I have it. It's a big hassle to have canister mufflers like I do because there is not much room and the canister also do not have enough ground clearance, especially if the car is lowered.

Resonators, exhaust tips and mufflers in any size can be found on summit racing.

Here are some tips that are resonated and are also chrome and wont fade with time. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-95-9919/
Here are some resonators to be used along the middle or wherever. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BOR-40085/

Canister muffler with dual 3" inlets and dual 3" outlets. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-12599/

You can use 4 resonators and 1 canister muffler in the middle of the car. That's how much room is under the car. If you top it off with Pacesetter resonated tips it should be more quiet than stock.

Also I would not buy any exhaust tips that weld on. I would buy clamp on tips so you can change them for different looks or if they get damaged. The weld on types I would weld on a v band assembly on the exhaust pipe and the tips. A pipe can use for the exhaust pipe with a v band welded on for tips that clamp on. It's complicated work but it can be done.

If you mount the evap canister vertically and run a small muffler back there, wouldn't you have to worry about the heat possibly igniting the fumes from the canister?

No, you will have no problems. I've run my dual exhaust setup like this for 2 years now without issue. Also, the evap is sealed big time because it's main purpose is to deal with the fumes rather than just releasing them.

You have to mount it vertically if you still want it under the car and want a dual setup. There's no room under there to do it another way.

You can see the evap canister for the fuel system on the right. This used to be mounted horizontal where the exhaust pipe now sits.

We had to create brackets for the canister, mount it vertical on the side, and lengthen the hoses. All we could fit was a pipe in this area, there's no room for a muffler unless it's really small, which is why we just have 1 under the middle of the car, with pipes straight back.

How much did you need to lengthen the hoses? And what did you use to do it?

I'm not sure how much they had to use, but it wasn't more than an extra foot or so.

Just automotive rubber hose. You can buy them in bulk sizes and cut to fit.
