Installed Headers and Cats. Now 'VDC OFF' and SLIP lights come on
I put on TopSpeed Headers/Kinetix Cats.
I think it happens after highway (higher speed) driving. But not all the time??? I think it's sensor related, perhaps increase in intake is causing havoc, but does anyone have any clue? Restarting fixes it, until it happens again.
Please don't tell me to bring it to the dealer as I stated the car is modded. I did a search and I haven't seen a definite answer yet

Trini, could you please elaborate? Steering linkage? Dot? And dealership fixed it (I assume this wasn't under warranty)? Finally, how would have installing my headers/cats cause the steering linkage to mess up i wonder...

You have to disconnect the steering linkage "U-Joint" on the driver side in order to get the manifold out and the header in. If the steering wheel or wheels get turned so that the two ends no longer line up to factory position when reconnected, the ECU knows something is messed up and turns on your light.
steering linkage
i was watching the mechanic as he installed my headers...you have to disconnect the steering linkage thats unders the left drivers side...just picture the shaft running from the steering wheel to your suspension and you'll see it...go under car and look up at the header..you wont be able to have a clear view cause the linkage is in the way..simply disconnect and realign so the dots match up...then reset your ecu and you should be fine..its probably not the 02 sensors or throttle body cause you would get a check engine light..not a "slip" and vdc...just have it looked at again...
and as far as messing with the throttle body (referring to other post)...same thing happened to me when i messed with mine..just do the battery disconnect and it will be fine...
hope i could help..pm me if you need more info..
