VDC button disables this only.

But disabling the Yaw sensor is supposed to disable the VDC and TCS.

Point being the TCS is reponsible for the throttle reduction when having the brake/gas pedal down at the same time (ie.. auto drag launch)

This is supposed to allow the brake light to work and abs to still function. ie.. if you pull the brake light fuse, it disables all the above AND brake light/abs function.

Thoughts?

Try it and give me your thoughts. It's super easy. Lift the armrest and then grab the console trim piece at the back and pull upwards. The console should pop off. Peer down near the shifter mechanism and you'll see the sensor. Unplug the harness and drive. I noticed no difference. i may try it at the strip just to verify that my butt dyno is calibrated.

I grabbed a pic from your squeak thread. Thanks.

I'm trying to mess around w/ my launches before I change anything. With your advice and with the VDC off, I was able to get a few decent launches.

Brake + 1500-2000 rpm, lift brake and semi-mash resulted in a small squeak from one rear tire. hahaha sorry but hey, they are 19" RE050s! Plus I didn't want to go nuts on the street. I have to make time to drive the car as I have my baby daughter with me most of the time (commute).
I'll try a full on brake torque mash soon.

I did notice if I tried to brake torque at a higher rpm, the car did want to start moving.

Old school "brake stand"

New school "power brake"

Same thing.

Dave, how hard is brake torquing on the auto tranny? ie.. only brake standing to 2500 rpm or less? I need to practice but don't want to hurt anything.

I guess anything above 2.5k is too close to the rpm where the torque-convertor locks up

I would usually do it around and below 2k then launch

The FSM recommends no more than 5 seconds. However, I've found that only 1-2 seconds is needed. Anymore than that and the car seems to bog off the line. Most stock cars launch better flashing the TC instead of trying to build a bunch of rpm. When I launch, I depress the brake hard, go WOT, and release the brake a second later. I usually see about 2200-2400rpms right when the car rolls. At the track, the tire chirps barely. On the street, I'll get 5 to 8 feet of spin in 60+ degree weather. In cold weather, the spin can be very bad (almost through 1st gear)......but it's damn fun having the tail slide left while pointing the car straight
