Infiniti vs Nissan..................?

Went to Infiniti stealership last Saturday and inquired
with the service manager the cost of service on my
tranny/rearend. He told me $300 for both. On Mon.
I talked to the service manager at Nissan about the
same job. At first he wasn't sure so he talked to his
parts dept and came up with $125. I did explain it
was the same fluid and time as the 350Z. But his
answer remained that $125 was my cost.............
quite a diffrence from Infiniti? Ya think Infiniti was
screwing with me or what?

You said it yourself.

Yeah they trying to screw you over.

Take it somewhere else...maybe another infiniti dealership can give you a better qoute. If not, then stick with nissan.

Hope I helped

I did the same thing for the 30K service, and it was less than 1/2 at the Nissan dealership. Nissan also told me that the AT transmission fluid was every 60K for the Z, but Infiniti said 30K. Same transmission.

It's opposite here for me. My local Nissan dealer wanted $80 more for a tranny flush than the Infiniti dealer.

Be aware that there are different levels of tranny fluid service for the 5at. The change involves simply draining the tranny pan and replacing 4-5 quarts of fluid. The flush involves pushing fresh fluid through the entire system and requires approimately 11-12 quarts.

I've seen the change for as little as $90 and the flush for as much as $300. And the nomenclature can change from dealer to dealer. Just because they say flush doesn't necessarily mean that's what you are getting. It's always best to check your receipt and verify how many quarts of tranny fluid was used.

I have work done at my Infiniti dealership, and sometimes I initially feel like I've been over-charged. But then I look at the free loaner car, the free wash and interior cleaning, superior courtesy, and suddenly, it seems like a fair deal. Last time there, I got a free replacement driving light bulb. Why? The dealer called it a "defective" bulb... Gotta like it.

Or better yet, ask exactly what their procedure is before you ante up your keys. It avoids a whole lot of stress when it comes time to pay.

More Infiniti vs Nissan............

The following Wed I went back to Infiniti to pick up
the parts ordered. I asked the parts manager why
such a diffrence in price and his answer was that
Infiniti uses a higher quality of trans fluid than they
put in the 350Zs......? Same damn trans, but I can
understand the diffrence between 4 quarts and 10
to really clean it out....other than that I feel like I
dropped the soap........haha
