SES light comes on a day after testpipe install even after o2 non foulers

I installed test pipes last night and today the SES light came on. Is this just a coincidence or is it because of the test pipes?

Where do I get those and do I have to install them on every o2 sensor behind the cat?

you can get them from pepboys, kragen, or any local autopart store

'foulers are used to space the O2 sensors out from the exhaust stream so they don't sniff so much - then the errors wont occurr. without cats, more gases flow, as they aren't burned, and the O2 sensors will sens that and throw a code. if you space them back, and not let them breath it all in, you fool them.'

What you need are spark plug non-foulers/spacers. Like mentioned above, they are available at most autoparts places, and they're pretty cheap. They come in pairs; you will need two pairs.

You will drill out the tip of one(about 1/2" diameter), then screw it into the opening of another. The o2 sensor will then screw into the non-fouler. And yes, you'll need to do twice; once for each o2 sensor in the test pipes.

I probably didn't explain it very well. Instructions, with pictures, are available here.

If you don't feel like doing it yourself, there was a guy on my350z that was selling them pre-drilled. His thread is here.

you must not have done it correctly. did you use two spacers on each side? Did you correctly and tightly screw them in? Did you put the spacer on the rear O2 sensors and not the front? I ask all of these because there is no reason yours should not work. I did it on my 05 coupe and it works just fine.

I don't doubt his claims. There have been a few z's lately claiming the same on my350z.com. I don't have a solution, or even a hint of one, to offer; that's the only reason I haven't responded yet.

And I don't think he would have put them on the forward sensors. Those are mounted in the stock manifolds. Plus, who knows what would have happened had he spaced out those front sensors; those are the sensors that the ecu monitors to control A/F.

OK. I'll assume you didn't reset the ECU because I don't see anywhere that you said you did. Once the SES light comes on, you have to turn it off by resetting the ECU.

The no-foulers just prevent it from coming on again after you've done the reset.
