Car won't start.
Car won't start.
Battery drained 6 months ago, replaced battery...ever since then the battery seems to drain on and off. It works fine for awhile and then dies. Replaced battery again, didn't act up for four months and now car won't start again. Guys, let me know what u think the problem is. I am taking it to Infiniti on the 2nd for the fuel hose recall.
yes i do ... and i did check the voltage and its fine... i think i must have an electrical problem or a messed up relay of some sort ... i'm really frustrated because its a badd a!@# car and i dont want to trade it in if it has a computer problem.....also my car cd changer has been jammed for almost a year so i dont know if that might be the problem for the drainage....
this sounds like an ALTERNATOR problem. your alternator probably isn't charging your battery enough. thus, instead of buying new batteries ($70+) eachtime, you should probably charge them because they're not even a year old. i am not exactly sure how much an Infiniti's alternator go for, maybe $400. might be more pricey, but it'll help you a lot.

The alternator can only charge a battery IF you operate the vehicle in a certain way that there is an excess of amperes. vs the normal parasitic drain + battery self drain.
Usual problem is addition of aftermarket audio or underdrive pullies or just too much slow night driving in winter with heater and defrosters on high.
An alternator has 3 phases and sometimes 1 or more fail reducing capacity by 1/3 or 2/3..............enough to run but not enough to always maintain a full charge especially in cold temps.
It takes a few hours at steady 60 mph [lights and other draws off] to recharge an almost depleted battery
