Hi Ossama,

Thanks in advance for dropping me your email. I've rarely seen any modified Infiniti's (well G35s atleast) in Dubai and was surprised when I opened the anniversary issue of Top Perf MAg to see a supercharged FX in town - lovely ride might I add.

1. Where did you purchase the SC kit from - stillen.com I assume? I've read that the stage 3 kit is not street legal - or does that apply to the USA only.

2. From the GCC perspective and climatic conditions, have you had any issues so far with the SC kit? And does Nissan honor the warranty - Stillen offers a warranty on their SC kit.

I plan on adding rims at the end of this month - will be purchasing them myself in Miami. Will be running a staggered setup of 5Zigen Sport Compact gloss black 19x8.5 front (+38) and 19x9.5 rear (+45). Further to that I'll prob drop in either a stillen/hks or fujitsubo exhaust.

What brand is the set of 22" you have on the FX? And finally if you don't mind me asking what was the install cost + time needed to install and tune the car with the SC kit?

Hope to hear from you soon. Do you know of any local Infiniti forums/clubs?

Hey Clint

Happy to find another Infinity fan, To be honest no one in this country is able to give you the right advice regarding the Infinity (especially when I to comes to G35 4d) I still have my G35 4d and I did some modifications as well on it but you really need to be very careful doing that for the following reasons:

1- The wheels I have on my FX are RS wheels from UK purchased here in Dubai, Size 22'' , You can't install different size wheels (both Rear and front has to be the same size) on your G35 because it has sensors and that will definitely effect your gear box and you will face Gear miss counting problems which may lead to break your gear box ( I advice you to refer to Motor Sport Wheels) they are located in Al Barshaa when you go down from the bridge opposite to MOE they will be on your lift side next to TOYO tiers, You can ask about Mr. John He is the only one I trust in this matter in Dubai.

2- Super charge from Stillen is a great machine, I have no problem at all with it on my FX it cost me around 75k together with installations fee, it toke something like 4 days to install every thing on the car, Rims, air filter, lowering kit, exhaust system including headers and break system from AP Racing which purchased from MSW as well, Yes it is not street legal in USA but here in UAE all superchargers are not street legal if they are not coming from the mother company fitted on your car.

3- Once you modify your Infinity and take it to service you lose your warranty (that is their way) so you will be lift with Stillen warranty which is not covering the stage 3 and 4 SC.

My Advice to go for air intake filter, full exhaust system from Stillen including headers, Break system from AP Racing (they are the best for your car) than after that you go for the wheels to make sure it will not touch your calipers.
For the breaks and Wheels you can call Mr. John on 04-3408841 MSW he will be great help for you.

If you need any other information you are most welcome.

Ossama

and does not running TPMS on new wheels really mess up your gear box?

I was under the impression (by searching these forums) that even with no TPMS sensors installed on aftermarket wheels and the TPMS light on the dash, there is no real problem.

A lot of the crap he said is wrong.

1. SC kit - Stage 2 meets CARB certification which means it is legal inside the US for installation and street driving. As for outside the US, check the regulations. I would bet it is fine for the UAE.

2. As for the heat, I would consider a different kit. Having been a previous Stillen owner and spent some time in Abu Dhabi, that kit heat soaks pretty bad in the kind of conditions you will see (110-115+ with high humidity). It is similar here in Phoenix in the summer with lower humidity. You will burn through a number of belts with those sustained conditions for months at a time. If you are not good at DIY, get a kit with less maintenance (ie Turbo).

3. Those wheel choices are great. You will not have problems with that combo. Just make sure your pressure sensors are moved from your stock wheels. The problem he is talking about is for the AWD cars.

There is no "tune" time for the SC. It comes with a locked box from Split Second so no additional tuning can be done. I was able to install my kit in one day.

If you have more G questions, let me know. He is not an educated source.

Well I drive a RWD 2006 sedan, does the TPMS do anything other than monitor the pressure? i.e. If the sensors are not installed and the light is constantly on, will it affect the engine/chassic etc of the car?

THANKS

Pressure only. If you take them off then the light will stay on; that's it.

I know this to be true for the 03/04 but am not 100% sure for the later ones: If your tire diameter between the front and rear is off by too much the car will go into limp mode until you turn the VDC off. After a few miles of driving the car will shut down the VDC, ABS and TC. My car does it right now because I messed up a wheel and my stock rear wheels have road race tires on them. Fronts are 215/55/17 and rear are 215/45/17 which is too far off. **This is an extreme case (6.4%) and you won't have this problem with the tires you go with. My 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 are just fine (<1%).**

Just have a tire shop swap them out when they mount up the tires on the new rims. The sensors fit 99% of the aftermarket wheels out there.

these are the new tires I plan on going for with either 5zigen or Fox RS wheels:

245/35/19 front
275/30/19 rear

19 x 9.5 +45
19 x 8.5 +38

how do you know or what calculations do you use to know if they are far off stock size?

2.17% smaller in the front, 3.16% smaller in the rear.

I went with 245/40/19 and 275/35/19.
1.47% bigger in the front, 0.95% bigger in rear.

The setup I used is closer to the stock, but most people run 35/30...but then agian 35/30 is really meant for a 20" rim setup. BTW, if your still interested in the privat netz, they have them in black now....

Either set of tires will work. If I had 19's I would run the 245/40 and 275/35 combo.

Because the overall diameter (tire and wheel) is smaller than the stock 17" wheel and tire.

some people when they`re satisfied with a toy from x brand will hate all other brands it seems that this guy is strictly stillen, i had my G since last year and the damn TPMS light is still on, and i did a lot of mods and my car still shifts fine !! it will only tell you that the pressure is low that`s all.
