dont quote me on this but i heard it might actually make you lose a little power, and it only really works good on FI cars.

^ He speaks the truth. Unless your FI, or at least planning on going FI, you just spent about $800 or so on a shiny good looking manifold that will decrease your hp.

Every dyno i have seen it has lost 10+ whp and tourqe.
In my honest opinion, it is a big piece of steaming ****.

You a restricting ALL of the cylinders with this no matter what someone says who has it that is NA.

I recall seeing a dyno of a NA that had a tune done just to get back to stock HP and TQ. That is rather sad considering you pay $800+ for the SSV and than another $800 for the tune just to get you back to stock power because you like the looks of it.

If you have zero mind for power and performance and just want a show car, than go for it. Spend the $800+ bucks for the huge loss. Most people spend that much money to gain HP & TQ, not to loose HP and TQ!

Those two people you know love it for the looks alone. They love it at 4k rpms because that is where they will start to actually have power. You are killing your AFR at lower rpms with the SSV without FI.

Do NOT install the SSV if you think you are doing it for NA power because you'd be an IDIOT! If you want to install it for aesthetics and lose the HP & TQ, than go for it.
LOL that is sad.

so the SSV is like "reverse modding" your engine. You lose more hp the more you spend

The Kinetix V+, APS tallboy, and Crawford upper plenum are all designed to increase and maximize plenum volume. The SSV's collection manifold is about the size of your forearm. It's ideal for creating the most pressure possible in the smallest space possible with enough room for back pressure (aka Forced Induction). Running the SSV on a NA VQ will cause it to run rich because it is gasping for air.

This is the official NA-VQ anti-performance mod.

what are the gains with it for a FI vehicle?? as in my new Procharger? Or should I pay the extra 200 for the cosworth plenum? Or however you spell it?

What is said about it:

The Cosworth intake plenum for the VQ35 has been under development for over 6 months. I saw some rough sketches a few months back, and they finally released their semi-official working prototype for display purposes at SEMA.

They showed us pages and pages of data, flow charts, graphs, etc...that proves they REALLY did their research on this one. They went through 6 different design concepts, before settling on this one. Live testing was conducted on their in-house engine dyno. They claim 17hp improvement in top end power, with no trq loss on the midrange on a bone stock non-revup VQ35.

More importantly, the plenum is finally making power to redline. This thing should be a screamer, especially for the forced induction people, where power tends to drop off around 6500rpm or so.
