Going to do the idle relearn today; I've noticed my idle speed is a hundred or so RPMs too high..

^ everything went well, nice and smoothly?

I just got the spacer in the mail, thanks man.

i quickly glanced at the DIY on page 1, why would you need to remove the 4 10mm bolts. Shouldn't the 3 bracket bolts be only what you need to remove?

Yes, no problems other than having to replace the A/C belt tensioner. =-$90

One of the big three mounting bolts does not have enough room to be removed if the pulley is still there. Remove the four small bolts before you loosen the belt. You will have to jiggle the pulley mount when removing since there is not much room. Might have to hammer the spacer in place with a long screw driver.

was the tensioner failing to being with?

I remember back on my VQ30, i loosen one of the tensioners TOO TOO much and it came off. I spent a good hour or two trying to figure out how to get it back in. The 2nd one i did was cake.

Just need it to be a little warmer out to tackle this. Then i can find out if its really that idler making that annoying noise of it i have another pulley.

I'm pretty sure there was a screeching noise coming from the A/C belt tensioner. When I loosened the tensioner I could tell the bolt was rusted, as it was very hard to unscrew. I removed it from the car, saw it was bent, and actually stripped the bolt. I put anti-seize on both tensioner bolts when reinstalling.

My belts are silent now, for the first time in about 2 years. I had to replace the tensioner at the same time as I removed the other pulley, so I am not sure if the noise was coming from the extra pulley and the A/C belt tensioner.

good thing is not hard to do/reach so i wouldn't mind going this job twice or 3 times for that matter. But with the belt off i'll mess around with the pulleys and tensioners to see if anything is off.

If any of the tensioner bolts are showing "tighteness" when loosening, be careful because you might strip or break the bolt. In that case, just buy a new one!

finally did this, thanks AARON for the spacer.

it was cake actually, well mainly because of great pictures here and prior knowledge on my VQ30. a RWD VQ is SO FREAKING easy compared to FWD VQ. Both are easy but this is gravy work because no body or motor mount blocks it.

Think it took me about 15 mins all in all after i jacked it up and remove the shield. 10mmx4 were cake to take off with the belt still on,well to loosen. the 17mm and 14mm too a quick tug on the breaker bar, i think a normal 1/2 ratchet would of done it.

I didn't look it up but those 17mm are they suppose to go back? I put them back into the block because i didn't want to lose them but i feared it might of gone back too far so i was careful. I didn't feel it hit anything so i think its all good.
