If you're gonna go that far, sleve it and put a stroker kit in. You would have a G42 !!!!

You must have a large amount of money burning a hole in your pocket because the sound and problem could easily be attributed to the pulley(s). Why not spend $120 and put the stock ones back on before spending $4K+ on engine work. Also, if your engine as truely failed, I would inspect the crank bearings, crank seal, and crank itself. If any of those components has failed, the chances are very likely that the UR UDP caused the failure. The chances of you getting any money from UR is about nill, but at least you could share your story, if in fact the failure was caused by the UR pulley(s).

Also, how loud is this tick? Is it really loud or only marginally audible from the outside with the hood closed? The reason I ask is if the sound isn't extremely loud, the sound could be the injectors. The injectors on these cars are really loud and always have been on VQs. As rpm is increased, the injectors tick more often. A simple test is to turn the engine on, warm it up, and then take a long screwdriver and place the metal end on top of the injector cap and place the handle up against your hear. Have someone rev the motor a couple times (idle to 3000rpms) and listen to the sound. If the sound a louder version of what you're hearing with the hood down, then it's the injectors. I can't tell you how many times people have mistaken the injectors for a serious engine problem.

With the right tune, you can safely add nitrous.
