i had that.
my dealership replaced my tranny.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED AT 30K MILES!!!
they said they wouldn't have covered it if i hadn't had the fluid swapped out.

I'm having the same issue. I changed the MT fluid myself around 30K. I don't have my records in front of me but I believed I used Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 (which is recommended for GL4 or GL5). Will this pose any problems getting warranty work done?

Just an update...Took the car in last night and after they test drove it this morning they're ordering me a new transmission with no questions asked. They're gonna put in a new CD player while they're at it. While all of this is going on, I'm driving a G35x. I have to say Infiniti of Ann Arbor has been very good to me.

I also get a "humming" sound coming from the transmission area all the time, not just when cold. I assumed it was a result of the aftermarket flywheel, maybe not being completely balanced. hmmm.

I have the exact same problem that you guys are describing. Humming when cold from 35-55 mph, goes away after 10 mins of driving (05 sedan 6MT).

I brought my car into the dealer a month ago. They initially said it was a "normal" transmission noise and to "bring it back to the dealer I bought it from" which greatly pissed me off. After I emailed the manager of the store and threatened to call the BBB and corporate infiniti, their tune changed immediately. They changed the trans oil, this didnt work. I have another appointment this week to continue troubleshooting. Ill let you guys know how it goes...

^^ did you go to service yet again?? I'm interested in what happened and also what area your from. Mostly guys on the west coast and midwest are havings less problems getting this done than northeast guys. It's starting to warm up and my tranny is doing this less and less. Guess I'll have to wait till it's cold again.

Guys,

Please see the new thread I started in the main G35 forum page title "ATTN: Drivers with noises from Manual Trans" for an update of my problem. Im getting closer - but it is still not fixed, unfortunately.
