Humming noise for 1-2 miles
Humming noise for 1-2 miles
I've done the search and no luck. After a cold start i notice a hum that sounds like a window leak but it only last for 1-2 miles and then its gone for the whole day. this happens everyday. Its annoying. Does any one have the same problem and is there a fix for it?
Hey I had the same problem. The dealership changed the transmission fluid to a lighter one and now the noise is gone. They said if i hear it again, they would give me a new tranny. Try to change the fluid first.
I have a 6mt too. did you have problems shifting into gears when you had this issue?

here's what it stated on the work order:
"client claims that there is a howling noise coming from the transmission in the morning during the first 10 min driving L4. Road test vehicle and confirmed the complaint. Found trans. noise internally. Complete replacing trans."

I am bringing mine into the dealer on Monday night and leaving it overnight so the can hear the noise for themselves in the morning when they start and move it. I will keep you posted on the BS they tell me.

Mine does this too, has since new. Kind of sounds like a mild SC whine but it's the gearbox. Mine hasn't gotten any worse and shifting has stayed the same, actually better shifting running Amsoil. But if it does get worse, warranty will handle it.
