Altered Atmosphere REFLASH?
As i had another post i was asking about upgrades to do, i was just trying to post another to see if others had tried the reflash at altered atmosphere and if its a good gain
I've heard people say their car feels faster and some say it feels slower... As soon as I get an exhaust and HFCs I'm going to have it done. I would certainly advise you not to get it done until you complete all of your bolt-on mods, because your air/fuel mixture, backpressure, etc will change with each one, and they'll reflash it to optimize your fuel map and such with the mods you have.
Also, a 500rpm (i think) increase in red line is attractive to me. I'll be doing it not for the HP gains, but for the red line increase and what supposedly is a more balanced power curve.

You can benefit from a reflash stock, but once you've opened up the intake and exhaust, the gains are going to be better. IMO, at least have plenum or plenum spacer, headers, hfc to get the most out of your money.
I had it done.
From what I recall, they basically have one map that is used regardless of what mods you have.
I spent the money to have it dyno tuned and after the dyno tuning it wasn't much better then when they just used their base mapping.
For whatever reason, I didn't get much up top. At the time I had a stock airbox and this might have been why. But, I did pick up a lot in the midrange which is probably better anyways. I could definately feel a difference.

Also, any noticeable improvement in gas mileage?
why reflash instead of utec or other system... just asking cuz im done with bolt ons myself now and need an ecu upgrade
Trending Topics
UTEC is still a piggyback and only does anything when you are at WOT, while a reflash is just that... a reflash of the ECU programming. Your only other option besides piggybacks is a true stand alone like AEM, and that's just a lot of work, and IMO, not as convinient for a daily driver.
I'm not trying to take attention away from Altered Atmosphere's reflash, but there are other reflash options for the Gs... Technosquare, Osiris... I have the Osiris and love the fact that you can have several maps that can be switched with the cruise control controls. But I did get dyno tuned too.

Just pay to get their basic flash done. As I said, they did about 10 runs after the basic flash tweaking this and that and didn't get a whole lot over the basic flash.
The numbers speak for themselves: there is more power over a large part of the RPM range. I wish I had my intake at the time to see if that might of helped me pick up more on the top end.
No change to gas mileage.

How does that dyno constitute a waste to you?
There are not many mods for a G that give you 10+ hp and torque over a broad RPM range as this?????
I agree that there are other alternatives that may even be better. The fact that I lived nearby and could get the dyno done is what sold me.
One other thing:
My car had made more power on a cold day than the baseline dyno I have here. When I got this done it was raining like a b**** and that humidity probably didn't help things much.
