Throttle Body Bore
Has anyone done any throttle body bore services on their coupe? I was thinking of getting the spacer and the MREV2, but if all that is still ultimately restricted by the throttle body size, why not bore it out more to allow more air flow? This could work in conjunction with the spacer and MREV2 collector or just be a great HP boost on its own. Or does the throttle body bore not work on our cars/not do-able/etc?

The main reason I think nobody tried this already is because the work is not worth the HP gain. I can't see more than 3 WHP coming from the mod, but I have been wrong before.
My reasoning is that it is the restrictor that allows more air into the plenum. We can put all the spacers we want on the plenum and lower collector upgrades, etc, but the throttle body is technically the bottle neck. Now, I am not talking about rifling it or any of that silly stuff, I am talking about straight boring it out so the hole is bigger and allows more air to funnel in.
Any thoughts? I am really hoping someone's done this, cause it boasts big gains on a lot of other cars, especially American muscle.

Your reasoning sounds logical and all but it is not restrictive at all.
There is a giant thread on my350z following someones plan for this.
People are making 1000whp+ on the stock throttle body, it's not restricted, sorry.

there isn’t enough material to bore it out enough to make enough diff... besides, then you would need to replace the throttle plate... you might as well consider replacing the TB - I think a few have tried that... I don’t know the details though.

you wont have to replace the plate because of the way it is bored. i had this done on my last car(mazda 6) and it made a little diffrence with a cold air intake.now our cars are way diffrent from the mazda 6 so i would have no idea what it would do. if my car would stop f**king up maybe i could try this. lol
I'm not a proponent of this. I am just wondering if anyone did this and what the results were. All I was saying is people do it on other cars, so wondering if anyone tried on ours.
And for the guy spittin out numbers: Just because someone makes 45674375676753675676789589 rwhp with the stock throttle body doesn't mean that it can't be modified to increase power.

This isn't a 5.0 or whatever you want to compare it to. It's an entirely different setup.

Engineers who are assigned to each individual component are only allocated so much restriction. Why not measure the amount of restriction at WOT and differing rpms with a low cost Dwyer manometer [ebay].
Historically it appears that Nissan allows a max of 7" WC [H2O] for the TB at redline.
7" ~~= 1/4 psi or 1.7% restriction if you improve things by a few inches WC you gain 1.5 HP............maybe?
The problem is the electronic TB control software which is preprogrammed for stock TB............who will rewrite this so it functions with TCS.
