Can someone Clarify for me?
Can someone Clarify for me?
I greatly appreciate the information that this forum has to offer but in some cases, it kind of reads like stereo instruction. My clarification is in regards to the MREV2 lower collector. I plan to buy an 03 or 04 Sedan and I would like to know would it Benefit for the model I plan to acquire or should I just stick with the 5/16" spacer? I'm not trying to go for extreme HP, primary reason...GAS PRICES
, but I would like to enjoy the feeling of being able to stomp on the throttle and feel her move. I have already made plans to go with a Borla exhaust and a Popcharger with a Z-tube. I'm also not trying to nickel and dime hP, I am just trying to see where I can with it. I know in order to get the full potential of all my parts a tune must follow. Please to all, help me understand for my fragile brain is starting to smoke,
* Also can someone tell me the difference in a high rev as suppose to a non-highrev?*

You can always get it, but the MREV2 shines on the revup motor.
You might want to watch out for your AFR if you get the spacer + MREV2 if you already have a few mods.

Don't bother with the MREV2 on the '03,'04. It'll benefit the revup, but little on the older engine as it's basically a slightly modded lower plenum that's already there.
Also, unless you just want a bit more noise and possibly lose a bit of power, don't do the Pop-charger. I had mine on for a couple of weeks before I went back to stock. Most CAIs do little or may do worse on the G35.

just get the MREV2 not the spacer. it'll give you much better returns in TQ and only slightly less HP(in comparo to the spacer, still good gains over stock) up top. don't run them both on ur Non-RevUp, you'll run really lean w/o a tune.

What could I gain realistically with the spacer alone, and would I still have to tune if I put one or the other on? I would still plan to tune in order to get the full potiential performance of the parts for example, exhaust and intake. What I am wanting to know is what can I get away with installing on the Sedan before having to tune, and if there are parts I can install before relying on a tune, will I see a noticible gain in any hp?

The tune was $550 for basic reflash plus $150 for custom dyno tune. yeah, after the tune it was 246whp & 240wtq. i picked up like 18hp and much broader/smoother tq band. i wasn't immediatly impressed w/the numbers but then i found out that stock 03 G35 sedan 5AT's dyno around 210 on their dyno i felt alot better. they told me that on another dyno on another day i could add 20hp+ to my chart, with no new mods(add 10 more when i get new plugs). so i'm not too concerned about the numbers. i'm more pleased w/the extra 18 ponies or so and the smoothed out ride. i should be pretty close to 300hp to the crank w/some killer high-end grunt. my car sounds & moves so much better now, it's crazy. don't get too caught up in peak numbers or dyno charts for that matter, just pay attention to ur actual gains and you'll be good.
