V8 Swap into a G35?
V8 Swap into a G35?
Has it been done yet? Particularly an LSx series engine swap into a G35.
That would be all different kinds of badass.
If my motor starts burning oil and craps out, I'd like to take that route if possible .

I don't see the point other than being unique for copious amounts of money. BT or TT setup would be just as quick if not quicker for a comparable or cheaper price and obviously has been done.

I HIGHLY doubt the weight difference will be much at all. LS1's are favourable for swaps because of their lightweight.
For example: When an LS1 is swapped into an FD RX7, I believe the final weight distribution is BETTER than it is stock.
The swap would probably cost less than a nice TT setup, would be 1000x more reliable, would have 300rwhp/300rwtq without putting ANY mods on the motor. With full bolt ons, an intake manifold and a nice cam/valvetrain setup you can easily be in the 400rwhp+ range. Heads/cam setup can put you near 500rwhp with GOBS of torque and no forced induction to worry about.
I'm looking forward to this kit being completed...My car only has 2000 miles on it and although I'm praying it doesn't start burning oil...if it does...it'll be getting an LS1 swap before I put another VQ in.

LS1/6Speed combos can be picked up for less than 3 grand. 2-3 grand for all the other neccessary tid bits and you still have a couple thousand left over for heads/cam swap. You could beat on the motor all day long and it'll thank you for it at the end of the day
I'd advocated the LS swap for a long time. I see Hinson FINALLY at least got pics. I've been waiting for pricing for months. I bet the swap parts will be $1500-$2000 or so.
The only slight problem I see is that the VQ35 is already very light so putting in the aluminum LS is more like the lesser of two evils. ie.. heavy arsed RB swap. Then again when you add turbo manifolds, two turbos, IC etc.. that's adding a decent amount of weight also.
IMHO, with the prices for older G sedans going down, I could see this as a very nice budget project for someone. Especially if the sedan has 100k+ miles on it.
