Engine shutting down after Nav install?? Help!!

installed a new nav/dvd head unit last night. everything was working fine, took it out for a test run last night and this morning. few hours later i am going out, the car starts up and just shuts off. all the dash lights come on such as battery, etc. start it up again and rev it and it stays on. while driving and stopping at lights it does not shut off and seems to be fine. but still when i turn the car off and turn it on w/out reving, it wont hold idle and will shut off.

this didnt happen last night or this morn, sound like a battery issue? the lights are still on when it dies, so i dont think it is. reset ecu?

Take it to a stereo shop If they cant diagnose it, take it to a auto repair shop that knows our car, I mean unless you can fix it yourself, but obviously you're on here asking, so that is what i would do

ummmm...
You programmed home & it's already there?????

j/k... sounds strange, I can't see how a nav would keep the car from running.
especially if you drove it after the install.

I'm not saying the nav is keeping the car from running. The car just won't start and hold idle. I have to rev it and then it will stay on and drive fine. I know the nav isn't doing anything but could having the battery disconnected during install have done something? It worked last night fine so its strange. Just asking if anyone has any ideas, thanks. I did the ecu reset and it still does it. It just seems like its not getting enough fuel at startup.

Any ideas as to my problem. Car is still starting up fine in the morning and after sitting for a while. When I try to start it up after turning it off real quick, it starts up and the rpms just drop and the engine shuts off. Have to give it some gas for it to stay at idle. Isn't this weird?

could be a dirty MAF or throttle body.. maybe it's idling too low.. i know you probably didn't mess with any of this, but this seems like the source of the shut off problems

I believe it has something to do with disconnecting the battery when your navi was getting installed. I believe you have to do what i believe is called a idle air volume relearning something something. I"ll try to find the post on that somewhere on this forum.
