"Diesel" sounding noise
Hey. I have a 04 6MT coupe with 60k on it. I just had the tranny replaced under warranty because 2nd and 3rd gear would make a very loud noise when you pushed the gas under 2000 rpm. I hestitate to call it "grinding" or something because it's fine getting into gear and what not, it's just when you push the gas with the clutch fully disengaged it makes a very loud noise, like a diesel truck getting going from a full stop.
I just got the car back today and it seems to still be making that noise even with a new transmission, even though the thresholds seemed to have changed (second gear now makes the noise under 1000rpm, third gear under 1500rpm).
I've searched extensively and have heard people talking about what seems to be a similar noise, but I've only read of people saying it happens when the car is idling or when they change gears.
Does anybody have any clue what's going on here and if this is normal? It sounds pretty gnarly.
