Help with Y pipe.

I installed JVT test pipes on my G a few months ago. I recently purchased a Megan racing Y pipe to go along with the Test pipes. I went to a local exhaust shop and the installer told me that the new y pipe dose not aline with the Test pipes.

My question is; If the Test pipes aline with the stock Y pipe, why dose the NEW Y pipe NOT work If it's built to the same standards as the stock Y pipe.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

THANKS

Dumb pipe bender....LOL

Not being under the car I can't tell you why the new Y pipe doesn't work. Did
you get under the car with the muffler dude to see why it didn't align? I
never take anyones word for anything unless I can see it myself. Take it to
another muffler shop, if they say the same thing ask them to explain why it
doesn't work....my guess is it will fit....suprise!

+1 Ask to see it yourself. You may find a surprise.

When I installed my Berk HFC's, my Top Speed Y-pipe was a very tight fit...meaning the alignment was slightly off and I had to really pry them into place. I developed a crack in my Y-pipe, so I re-installed the OEM Y-pipe and guess what...perfect alignment with the Berk HFC's.

What does this mean?

Each aftermarket part is designed around stock parts, and stock clearances. When you start putting together things that weren't designed together they have a higher chance of not lining up.

^^+1,

After installing my Power Enterprise HFC's, my Tanabe Ypipe/Amuse exhaust chain hangs lower than it would with stock HFC's.
