Codes P0455, P1273, P1283

04 SedanX
So my car is throwing three codes.. The P0455 is saying an evap purge valve short. and the other two are saying a/f sensors ?

Anyone have any ideas on wtf it could be ? Id rather not buy the o2 sensors if their only throwing a code because of the evap, but Im not sure why the evap would throw a code.. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds odd that both 02s would show bad at the same time. I'd fix the 1st problem, reset and see what happens.

change the gas cap form p0455 and its both cat sensors or you might have to change all four cause they all rely on eah other. i had the same codes and same problem. i changed the cats o2's and still got SES so im going to change the header o2's

i rarley see a gas cap go bad on these cars. More than likley its the Vent Control valve stuck or you have a legit leak somewhere, or the gas cap is not tightened.

Diagnostic logic in the a/f ratio sensors does not rely on the evap system for inputs. First step for the a/f ratio sensors throwing both codes at the same time is check the grounds one is by the steering column the other is behind the glove box. if thats not it you might have gotten the fluke both are actually bad i have had it a handful of times.

what color are the ground wires you speak of, so i can look at them asap. well i have new cat o2 sensors (both sides) no codes yet but it seems to sneak up on me. gas cap is new and tight, i passed all test on that (pressure and leaks)
