fujitsubo Y pipe compatibility
fujitsubo Y pipe compatibility
curious
:
will the Fujitsubo "y" pipe fit the oem exhaust system correctly???
i was under the impression the overall dimensions (length & spacing) were correct, but the ID of the single pipe section was larger....
how then, i ask, would this work to the oem unit??
((saw an ad that stated it will work w/ oem))
anyone have any experience w/ this part??
im also interested in their midpipe/muffler setup, but not right away....
thanks

Re: fujitsubo Y pipe compatibility
You can bolt them together. What happen's to the flow at that point, wouldn't take much to figure out. But as you say, you plan on getting a system down stream latter on that will use larger pipe diameter to match up proper. Unless the timeline to upgrade the piping down stream is a awefully long one, I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: fujitsubo Y pipe compatibility
the y-pipe will fit the oem mid-pipe. though the diameter is larger, the flange is smaller, thus making the bolt locations the same as stock.
like gsedan35 said, since you're getting an aftermarket midpipe and muffler later, you won't need to worry about going from small (cats) to big (y-pipe) back to small (midpipe).

Originally purchased the Y-pipe to use it with stock exhaust and eventually upgrade to Legalis R...An internal baffle in the stock muffler came loose creating a chatter that I could not bear..Dilema as it was now not covered by warranty because of high flow cats etc......Pushing me to buy an exhaust sooner than expected...Long story short...could not wait 4-14 weeks for the Legalis R so I Went with my second choice Borla TD----this is a full cat back and I no longer need the y or b pipes......tossed my muffler!
I am pleased with the Borla----clean and mean!
