Re: 350z exhaust- g35

On a G35 what? Coupe or sedan? If sedan, definitely not as the rear muffler of the aftermarket 350z exhaust would not fit the sedan at all. For the coupe, I can't say as I have a sedan and have researched more about that.

Even though he didn't label his post coupe or sedan, if you click on his profile he has a coupe and when a person's profile doesn't reveal what they drive, take and look at where they post, like in the coupe or sedan section. Of course it's always best to label our threads coupe of sedan when the question specific to one or the other.

You can use any Z system, providing you extend the mid pipe, since the G use's or requires a longer mid pipe.
www.performancenissanparts.com sells just such a extension part and it does not cost much.

Re: 350z exhaust- g35

Will the 350Z mid-pipe work for the G35 sedan or do I have to look for the coupes?

If your talking about oem, just get the oem coupe mid pipe. It's only a sound quality mod, you won't get gains from it.

One of our members bought the coupe midpipe and installed
it on his sedan. It was taken off and sold as the sound was
horrible and no HP gains.

Well, I bought mbarrad's HKS exhaust. Did you hear the
coupe midpipe coupled to his exhaust? I sure would
like to add the coupe midpipe if it sounded good with
the HKS exhaust. Actually, the HKS exhaust does not
sound much different from the stock one.

Re: 350z exhaust- g35

So if I get the coupe mid-pipe with my stock exaust it would sound better more like the coupe then? Just making sure. Is there any HP gains possibly from it even if its like 2hp?

Re: 350z exhaust- g35

I have been running a 350Z exhaust on my car w/ the extension piece. My sponsor, Pro-1, is actually the company that makes said extension piece. It goes between the midpipe and Y-pipe. Keep in mind that the 350Z exhausts have shorter tips than a G35 exhaust would have, so the tips will be a bit recessed into the bumper.
