my dealership must be cool though, they didn't ask any questions, just replaced everything and called me in 8 hours when it was done

plus i got to drive around in an 08 g35 sedan, which felt faster then my 04 g35c

soooo i went to infiniti tomorrow. i told him everything that was happening like the 2nd gear was grinding or it felt like i was hitting a wall before it went into gear. he said it could be the synchros, clutch going, or tranny. don't really think it's the clutch or maybe just don't want to cause its $1200 for a new one or $2400 if i need a flywheel as well. he said the synchros are covered under warranty and that the lubricated? parts of the tranny are covered. how did you guys get new clutch or tranny under warranty? he said there was no way they would replaced it!

weird! i took my car in, went for a test drive and the tech felt the grind too, and then they just ordered me a new tranny... later on they called me during the tranny install and told me they were replacing the flywheel, and clutch assemblies under warranty also. i didn't even have to do anything.

try another dealership maybe

is the grinding and difficulty to get into second really signs of a dying clutch. i mean sometimes it shifts in fine if i hold the clutch a second longer than normal when shifting. i would think more synchros/tranny. or maybe i just wanna think that cause its gonna cost 1-2 grand for new clutch. AHHH

it's probably the synchros

the tranny shouldn't grind at all if the clutch is fully depressed.

thats why the guy at infiniti thought that the clutch might be slipping if when i have the clutch to the floor and its still grinding into second. first gear seems fine.

well each gear has it's own synchro, so your 2nd gear one might be busted

in which case you get a w hole new tranny, cause infiniti dealerships don't rebuild them
