Oil Recommendations?

I have a '08 G35 sedan and am coming up on my 3rd oil change at 11,250 miles. The first 2 changes were done by the dealer for free and now I'm on my own. I was thinking of going to synthetic oil and doing it myself. Can anyone tell me if its difficult to first do the oil changes and second what brand of oil is good. I also wanted to know if I should stick w/ the OEM oil filters or go w/ aftermarket.

Lots of threads with plenty of posts on here about this topic. Search will ultimately be your friend. I've got an '06 and it was very simple to change the oil for me. I'm using Mobil One Synthetic 5W30 with a Mobil One Oil Filter and have been very happy with the results so far (just changed it about 3,000 miles ago). I had trouble finding the crush washer used for the oil reservoir seal and used a rubber one. I've since had another user post a link to the washers and I purchased several. Again, the search function is your friend.

Thanks for the response, I figured there would be a lot of threads on this subject but all the ones I came across seem to do w/ oil consumption issues. I'm looking for just suggestions on what type of oil and filter people are using for there G's. Also I noticed that the manual lists that the vehicle takes 8 quarts of oil when changing, on other threads I read 5 quarts. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks again.

I use Amsoil. You can't go wrong with Amsoil/Mobil 1 or any of the expensive ones, such as Motul. Also, DIY oil change is easy. Just need some ramps, 10mm and 14mm wrench, and an oil pan. Don't forget the oil and filter

Amsoil and Wix make the other high-quality oil filters. Don't use Fram. The Nissan one is fine as well.

Would not be recommended to use in a 2008 vehicle requiring an API SM rated motor oil to maintain the warranty, as RP 10W-30 is an old API SL rated motor oil from 5 years ago. Read the oil bottle.
