Your first post makes it look like you are assembling the 3.5" CAI for a normally aspirated G35, and later transforming to a boosted engine. NA engines suck the air instead of having it rammed down the CAI, so I would think the whole pipe should be the same size for an NA engine.

I have an NA engine and plan on staying NA. I have looked into bored throttle bodies and can post some info if you are interested. I am leaning towards bored OEM throttle bodies because I want to continue to use the OEM drive-by-wire. I would love to find a larger throttle body that would integrate with the OEM drive-by-wire.

Are your plans to keep the OEM throttle body while you run NA? It would make sense for you since you plan to go FI in the future.

This is a great thread... I'm interested to see your results.

None yet. Still waiting on my shop to buy a damn spool gun. But right now they in the process of moving again to a bigger location. I asked FP to let me rent their equipment but they said no.

I'm actually going to rent some welding equipment and get this done. This place might have it. http://www.rent-allplaza.com/Equipment_Rentals.html

As George pointed out, I don't think you can use a stock MAF sensor in a larger housing and expect it to work. You will have to reflash the ECU to recalibrate the MAF sensor. The MAF sensor voltage output is a function of airflow but the housing needs to be exactly the same dimensions for the voltage calibration to be accurate. Injected does not use the MAF for anything other than to keep the stock ECU from throwing CELs. Their Haltech unit (EMS) is using a MAP sensor to control fueling.

You may want to run it by the folks at UpRev. They will get you squared away on what you need to do to get this working safely.

changing the diameter of the pipe will affect the fluid dynamics of the air through it thus affecting the maf sensor.

I tried Raj, I tried... He will find out when he starts the car

Hint: Reduce the diameter of the pipe were the MAF sensor will be located to the same diameter as the OEM MAF housing, or retune your ECU.

I went ahead and bought a spool gun for Speedywrench.com. I also might be taking partial ownership.

I might have this done next week on the weekend.

Probably right. TB spacer with vacuum ports for signal. Not injectors LOL

+10000.

I'm sceptical as well as to the gains/benefits, but nothing can be said until this is competed and testing.

okay vacuum ports - I was thinking it was for NOS injection or meth injection or something... I dont use it so I'm not too familiar... anyway - not maf sensor housing.

This came in today. 2 reducers and some more tbolt clamps to use the stock MAF housing. I'll have this done this Friday or Saturday.

Something I pulled off my first car after I totaled it. Might be useful.
