Stillen Intake/Ztube
Sup guys, hope someone can help me out here.
I brought my car to a friend at the dealer to install for me since I dont have time due to work.
The intake sounds great, car runs good, EXCEPT, when im in high speeds usually 80-90 and above, when I am driving and I press the clutch and the RPMS drop back down instead of stopping at idle where they are supposed to, the cars stalls out. Any ideas why this happens, I have brought the car back and everything is connected in place.
Thanks

Re: Stillen Intake/Ztube
Odd. I don't know why that happens but I would suggest resetting the ECU (12 hr battery disconnect). I've done that when I installed mine and had no problems. Good luck.

IllusiveG35C,
This problem has occurred with most all aftermarket high-flow and some stock air systems at one time or another. A search should reveal numerous threads and posts discussing the problem.
The fixes... in addition to time and a full ECU reset, here's three procedures that you might want to try. I recommend doing the first two right away since they're so easy. By the way the third is almost a full Accelerator ECU Reset Procedure.
* Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning Procedure.
1. Make sure that the accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
* Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch is “ON”.
3. Turn ignition switch is “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
Make sure that the throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.
* Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)
It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.
1. Perform “Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning”.
2. Perform “Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning”.
3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Turn ignition switch “OFF” and wait at least 10 seconds.
5. Conform that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” and wait 3 seconds.
6. Repeat the following (steps 7a, 7b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.
7a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD)
7b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
8. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the Check Engine Light (CEL) stops blinking and turned ON.
9. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the CEL is ON.
10. Start engine and let it idle.
11. Wait 20 seconds.
12. Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure the idle speed and ignition timing are within the specifications.

Thanks that was a lot of good information, and I tried everything! It is still doing it!! Any suggestions or ideas why this would be happening?

Hmm... Thats intresting. I am getting very nervous about the car turning off all the time and I am very close to taking it off. I will try that. Any other ideas?

Re: Stillen Intake/Ztube
Well, car went in last night. Will let you know what the cause was, if found. So others having this problems will know.
