fluid change at 70000

hey guys, I have an 04 ip coupe coming up on 70000 miles and have never had the trans flush or differential...the car has been great to me and have never had (knock on wood) any problems with the car except for the usual wear and tear items. I have read conflicting stories wether or not to get the tranny flushed at such high mileage...some say do it and some say it may "shock" the tranny and make it fail sooner...any advice would be appreciated..thanks

Just do a quick drain and fill on the tranny. No need to flush.

The diff. you can have drain and filled as well easily.

You didn't specify which tranny you have -- MT or AT. The MT can be easily drained and filled. If you have the AT, the pan and torque converter should be drained. The torque converter holds quite a bit of fluid so if you only drain the pan, you'll be mixing new fluid with a lot of old.

yeah I guess AT or MT might help...I have an AT....so it wont be a problem to have it totally flushed at 70000 for the first time?? like I was saying a few threads I have read said that a total flush at such a hile mileage may compromise the tranny or was that for MT?? I'm still confused...I will start searching again...

why didn't you service the trans and differential at 30k intervals as recommended in the owner's manual?
