Re: $15

I've just installed some insul. wrap on my intake. I took the intake off to make it easier.
Also installed my Grounding kit I bought from InSaNeAmine. If you look closely you can see a small part of one red cable. Haven't been out, so no seat of the pants yet. I'll let ya know.

Re: $15

Pesti & Ramborami: I just installed my 'cold air wrap' (looks like sh*t but it'll do until I get K&N CAI). The damn intake tubing and expansion chamber made it hard to apply decently. Your Sedan tubing is more regular than my Coupe's, so will look neater like GodZilla's.
You can see most of the connecting points of the Grounding Kit. I got it in red to go with the engine cover. I like the smoother engine and easier starting. Still checking gas mileage and can't tell if any more power. Would only be a few ponies anyway.

Re: Best bang for the buck mod?

nitrous

just curious, does anybody make an aftermarket cam or anything for nissans? they're pretty popular for small blocks.

also, with a car like a g35, i would not bother with free mods. i'd only put in professional stuff.

as far as CAI goes, it sounds like a rip off. what is it, like 250 bucks for maybe 7 horses if you're lucky?

i'd wait for a turbo kit

Re: $15

Pesti & Gordgee: Idle seems smoother, starting seems easier, don't know on gas mileage or power.
Gord: G/K wires are only visible on the left side with cover on
There's another post above of kit with cover off. On this pic you can see the wire going into the battery box but you can't quite see it hooked up to neg. terminal. Call if you want more

Re: Best bang for the buck mod?

deadman your scared of the maxima and accord v6? Don't worry about them espcecially the accord. the accord has nothing on a g35.

Re: Best bang for the buck mod?

Any good mods out there so I can take on the 350Z. My cousin has a 2001 S4 with a chip and I want to like race him or something and like at least try to like beat him. His car runs to 60 about 5.4-5.5 standard is 5.7 for his car

I would try him first stock and then go from there, "Don't let him intimidate you!"

Re: Best bang for the buck mod?

Best bang for your buck would definitely be forced induction or nitrous. Since you don't want forced induction, I would go with Nitrous. You can get a small 50 shot kit for around $500. The difference between nitrous and a cai or exhaust, is you are garaunteed to make power. For those of you who actually dyno your cars before and after mods, or at least see legitamate dyno runs (at least 3 runs before mods, and 3 after at same engine temperature, outside temp, etc.,) you have noticed that with a lot of these newer naturally aspirated cars, it's hard to get more HP out of them with simple exhaust, and intake mods. To get the claimed power, if it's attainable at all anyway, usually it takes some dyno tuning after mod install to gain HP. Otherwise, it's not to uncommon to lose HP. Would you really want to spend $1500 for exhuast that may or may not make a measly additional 5-7 HP? Check out actual legitamate dyno testing results in magazines and you will see what I mean.
Personally, I like to be able to go fast at all times without worrying about a bottle to be filled, which is why I'm not much of a fan of nos. But otherwise, for the budget minded, and occasional straight line acceleration contest, it's by far the best option. Increase the amount of money you spend to about $1200, and you get a system that is totally automatic that engages with your throttle position, etc. And don't listen to any idiots who say that nos will blow your engine etc. A really small system like a 25 or 50 shot won't harm your engine and they are pretty easy to install. Not to mention, it's easy to hide, and or remove if you ever do need to take your ride in for warranty work. Try doing that with exhaust.

Re: $15

Pesti, I finally got the #6 & #7 wires in from InSaNeAmine in La.and installed them. Will post with further impressions after driving for a while................
Here's #7 that runs from the rear of the intake manifold to the transmission filler bolt.
