I don't even think you need a water bypass valve. If that was the case why doesn't Injen supply one? But you can install one if you want. I think people are using the AEM foam bypass valve. By the way here is a pic of the installed Injen (without any bypass valve).

Re: intake for dummies...

I've never measured compression but do keep a close eye on oil consumption and smoke from exhaust. So far I've got neither.

Check my question to you Q45 on the "Life Expectancy" thread. I would like to learn more about automotive compression testing as my own experience with aviation is to perform it regularly. At 7,000 feet over water, Karma isn't as relevant as knowing your glide ratio should your jug swallow a valve .

BTW, Karma is a big part of my life and fully understand its implications. In my last vehicle (2000 Audi 1.8T), I submitted full records and disclosure to the buyer, including all mods and driving style. When they know everything, you don't have to worry about someone tracking you down and sending you dead animals in the mail.

Re: intake for dummies...

About right for the Nismo. I thought the others were closer to $200.

I went here for my Nismo install.

Injen will be very similar. There's usually a used one in the For Sale, I'd go that way. Or use www.everythingg35.com. I seldom find prices cheaper anywhere else.
