Wednesday Motor
A few of my buddys drive G 35 's , one coupe 6MT and two sedans one is a 6MT and the other a 5AT. About a year ago we were all stock. My 5AT was more powerful than my buddys 5AT .@ 70MPH i was a full car up on him. The two 6MT's were faster than me ,but by just a 1/2 car at 70 MPH . When i started going to Stillen and modding my siht i told Dean at Stillen how i was hanging with the 6MT's but the other 5AT was way back im the pack ( the slower 5AT only had 11,000 miles on it)Dean said my car was a Wednesday car. I remember hearing when i was a kid from my uncles and my dad to never buy a car from the GM plant in Van Nuys ,CA On a Friday or a Monday, because workmanship suffered cause the employees were going out for dollar drink night on Thursday ,and hungover on Monday.Any one ever heard a 5AT being stronger than it's supposed to be
yeah.. mine...
I found out after buying my car that it was a loaner car from Infiniti of Elk Grove...
Hence why it pulls stronger because the motor was "well Broken in"...

My G was a loaner as well from Sherman Oaks CA . I was also told that my G was a track edition by the guys at the Infiniti parts dept when they pulled up my VIN . I dont see whats funny about the thread. The Question is .. do engines of the same make and model and year pull harder than others? My buddy's 05 coupe 6MT is a slug. I've had pots of coffee brew faster than he does the quarter mile

The only thing I could think of is the coupe does weigh 200-300 pounds heavier than the sedan, if im wrong please correct me. Then again you may just have more mods than the others
I think its because the ECU adapts to the driving habits of the owner. Usually, people who buy the cars new baby their cars for at least the first 1200 miles, if not more to break in the engine. ECU goes into more of a fuel saver/comfort mode. I can tell you that loaner cars are driven hard from the beginning. Every loaner I get into feels a lot faster, especially the initial take-off than most G's I've been in.
Quick solution to this is obviously to reset the ECU and drive it hard for at least a couple hundred miles.

We've talked about before how G35's can dyno from the low 220's (whp) up to high 240's (whp) or more. The same types of variations can happen within the 5AT group and the 6MT group. I don't think there really is such a thing as a "Wednesday" car, just by looking at the way cars are biult today. But there are a large number of factors that can go into how a car performs.
My story... A friend of mine had a '96 (I think) V6 Mustang. Exhaust, intake, and 150,000 fierce miles. He had the car for about 5-6 years and every time he could chirp 2nd gear - it was an auto (and you think our autos are slushy?). Anyway, one day we got curious and we went about 1.5 hours to the nearest track, he ran consistant 16.1's, which is nearly a full second faster then the average. Nobody could believe it!
My G WAS average speed stock
