sorry if im reposting. Ringing sleigh bell like sound from engine

Alright so everytime i lightly press on the gas pedal a bell like sound starts to come on. it gets quieter the faster i go but its getting progressively louder and more annoying. anyone know what im talking about?

could be pinging, a.k.a. knocking or pre-detonation. this occurs inside the cylinder if the timing is off or bad/low octane fuel is used.

alternatively it could be sleigh bells. check under your hood for an angry fat guy with a long white beard.

lol ty guys for that I've only used lower octane fuel once could that be it?

the sound is most likely pre-detonation due to low octane fuel. You know you're not supposed to use less than 91 octane in a G, right?

I didn't realize you only did it once...if you're sure the bad gas it mostly out of the system (you ran it down and filled all the way up with 91-93) you should be fine, I doubt it's pre detonation due to bad gas.

I've got a similar noise under the hood, too. Makes me think it's an idle pulley or something. I haven't inspected it yet, though.

I had a sound kinda like you described, Only did it on cold start though. 3 weeks later or so my idler pulley fell off. Take care of it sooner rather than later.
