Engine oil - Conventional or switch to Synthetic?

Thanks a bunch for the responses! Autozone has a special for $29.99 for 5 qts. of Castrol Syntec Oil & a K&N Oil FIlter. Is this a good choice and deal??

Oh it's a good deal but I'm not sure about the choice. I haven't used Castrol since I had my BRE 510 and that was pre-synthetic. I'd still choose Mobil 1 over Castrol or you could step up to what I'm using Red Line/K&N filters but you'll never find those on sale. Costco always has Mobil 1 cases at a great price!

Like I mentioned on a previous post, I put 125K miles on a '92 300ZXTT
using Mobil 1. That's was going on 5 years so it must have no less than 150K
miles yesterday when I saw it on the road....Mobil 1 can't be too bad!

Synthetic = Better?

So I know there are a ton of threads on the oil topic already. I like to change my oil every 3000 miles. Is there really any benefit in synthetics that will improve overall performance or run cleaner? My 06 coupe has 15000 on it right now. I dont need the added miles between oil changes so should I make the switch?

My garage told me about a newer synthetic blend that they are using...I think its called Mach 1, anyone heard about it?
