My g is burning oil and makes a little squeak
So as I accelerate there is this squeak at about 4000 rpm, almost like a turbo psssst, if you know what I mean. I think it sounds like a vacuum leak, took my g to Modern infiniti in Greensboro and they told me the noise was due to me putting in a k&n air filter into the factory air box. Do they think I am an idiot? I sold cars and worked on them my whole life...hell my stepfather used to build the Caterpillar D-9 bulldozers and grew up at franklin county speedway with his brothers racing the likes of Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, and more. I know this is not because of the air filter. Oh and to top it off when I dropped my g off I asked him they had the license plate holder that screwed into the tow hook adapter in the front bumper and he said yes. I told him if you have to put holes in my bumper do not even put one on. I picked up my g yesterday... guess what...I have two holes in my f*^%&%$ front bumper. Then the ******* had the nerve to charge my 75 dollars for the plate holder!!!!
Sorry just wondering about the psssst sound.

No mine only squeals around the 3500 to 4000 rpm range then it goes away. I understand it doing it with an aftermarket intake but I only replaced the factory filter with a k&n filter made to OEM specs. Does it really breath that much better just with the filter then I need to get an intake.

Wow so I called Infiniti USA and they called modern infiniti of greensboro and the service manager said he would re-paint my front bumper and fix the holes. hell yea! Class act. But now I have to drive back to greensboro and they are going to start that oil burning prob. i might get a whole new engine. Maybe I can talk them into a 2007 engine so I will not face this prob again later. They should do this anyway just so you dont run into the same prob. Obviously something is wrong with the "high-rev" engine.
