350Z Intake

Will adding just the Z Tube and using the stock airbox and filter make almost as much difference as adding both the Z Tube and Pop Charger? I've been hearing some so-so comments about the benefits of using a CAI since our stock airboxes flow enough air and am thinking that $100 saved could go to another mod like an underdrive pulley.

Yep, the "Z" tube is definitely worth it. It's probably the cheapest mod out there that will make a difference you can feel.

Re: 350Z Intake

Be patient and alert and you may be able to pick one up for under $50 from a 350Z owner upgrading to a CAI. Go to the classified section over at my350z.com

Re: 350Z Intake

I posted a few days ago in their classifieds and again today but no responses. I found out that www.mynismo.com is only 15 miles away and I just got home with the Z tube. Paid $80 and some change for it.

Re: 350Z Intake

Installed it today and my gf says it sounds louder and better, "more bass." I really didn't notice a difference but that may be because I am tone deaf. :>

Re: 350Z Intake

I just installed mine last night - sounds great at WOT - much deeper.

Did you have any trouble getting the acordian end to go flush against the intake box? I couldn't get the end to go perfectly flush without moving the tube which caused the middle bolt to be misaligned.

Re: 350Z Intake

I had a little problem there too... I put the little hose on at the bottom. Then, I connected the tube to the throttle body. But, after that I couldn't get the other end to sit flush with the MAF unit. So I removed the tube from the throttle body then put it on the MAF unit first, tightened it down then connected it to the throttle body and the "midway" bracket still fit perfectly.
