Infiniti says cars sound is from the purge valve solenoid?

[Answer Solved Below] Infiniti says cars sound/grind normal: purge valve solenoid?
Turning the car on while cold, my A/T 06 g35 sedan makes a grinding or woosh kind of noise when moving into second gear.
After taking it to the dealership they say:
"This is normal. What you are feeling is the Purge Valve Solenoid."
She goes on, "the car goes through a check system and it makes short sounds after turning on the car and driving."
She makes three really different yet funny sounds. I had to laugh and agree. Then goes on and states this is very normal.
I just bought a beautiful 06 sedan w/ 54,000 so I didn't know if it was normal or not.
Could this be the culprit or are they jerking my chain?
Thanks in advance for any insight on this matter.

It's been doing it since day one?
I was on two other threads and infinitihelp but they lead me to the compression rods and bushings being the culprit and infiniti dealership said that it's the purge valve solenoid doing normal testing.
I'll take my touch pro cell phone to get a vid up to confirm if 04G35NYC has the same sounds. Thanks for the responses!

I'm pretty sure the sound you are hearing is the ABS check sound, if I remember correctly. It sort of sounds like a grinding sound, or like a chain moving sound. It's kind of hard to explain, and it comes from the front of the car? Is this what you're hearing? If it is you're fine and it is normal.

I just let everyone know on another forum. You just made a lot of people happy. Some were about to go into major diagnostics w/out warranty.

thats a very common complaint on anything really if the radio and the blower motor are off you can really hear it. definatly not your Purge volume control valve lol thats funny, why would they go through a ton of diag work? every car does an ABS self check at random times our service writers here at work normally catch that one before it even hits the shop.
