A quick rundown on what was happening to my car. Hesitation when gassing, hard to start car. Threw a P3040 and P3045 so changed both sensors and car still wouldn't start. I was told to try to rock the car back and forth I also left the battery terminals off overnight. Car started up on 2nd try, so not sure if the cam sensors including crank sensors were going bad but car runs great.

I had one of mine go out. I replaced both. Only had to remove a bracket on the passenger side, and the intake tube and TB for the drivers side. Was done in an hour.

My symptoms were the car would die driving down the road and all the lights came on the dash. I pulled the code and looked it up.

Tried to start the car a day after it started and ran and would not start. Coded pulled for a driver cam sensor even though brand new and the crank position sensor which should be coming tomorrow so will update after install. I did pull the old crank position sensor and mine was missing an o ring and the tip had metal shavings on the tip which I cleaned and car would still not turn over.

I got the Service Engine Soon Light today. I went to Autozone and came up with a P0021 code. I haven't had any of the symptoms that others here were describing. The car feels the same before the light came on. It's not sluggish, it doesn't idle rough. If anything the start up occasionally seems a little sluggish, but that could just be due to the 20 degree temperatures here lately.

Any thoughts on whether or not I should change the sensors if the performance doesn't seem to be effected? It sounds like a lot of work to do and cost of doing it myself is about $140 in parts.

I would just double check any connections if you clear the code and it doesn't throw the code again. Here's more details and possible causes.

http://engine-codes.com/p0021_infiniti.html

Possible causes
- Harness or connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve may be faulty
- Crankshaft position sensor (POS) may be faulty
- Camshaft position sensor

Installed a genuine nissan camshaft driver side sensor and the startup is occasionally a second or so longer than I like. I too also got the 0021 code.I replaced the crankshaft sensor before that as well though it was bought from rock auto. ANyone got the 0021 code directly after changing the camshaft sensor?

Okay so my car just hit 125xxx miles, bought it about 2 years ago with 102xxx everything has been going fine and I love the car and its performance. A week ago I turned on the car before heading to work and it stuttered to turn on like if it didn't wanna turn. Takes a legit 3-4 seconds to actually turn on, check engine came on...Used a snap on scanner to show me the codes and it tells me bank1 camshaft sensor needed to be changed, I changed it and now it's telling me another one is out? I'm really busy with work and try to figure this out on my free time but it's too serious now I just want the normal engine start up back...can I get some help? Is it going to be expensive? Aha I feel I'm hurting the car every time it starts roughly like that...this is my daily driver it would be great if I can get replies ASAP...sorry for being a noob

If it's telling you the other sensor is out then change it and see if your problem goes away.

Anyone know where to get that green connector/harness? I got the sensor out no problem but spent 30 minutes trying to get the sensor out of the stupid connector. Freaking broke it and now the sensor won't click on and stay.
