You can also use a Napa Gold filter since it's made by Wix. But use the M45 filter. It's a little larger in capacity and fits just fine, and for some strange reason, it's a dollar cheaper than the G35 filter.

M45 = Napa Gold FIL 1356 / $7.69
G35 = Napa Gold FIL 1365 / $8.69

btw how many quarts do our engines take?
Firestone has a special going on right now for $20, 5 quarts of synthetic oil, tire rotation and lubricate chassis. what do you guys think?

ok guys called them up, they use 'kendall' synthetic blend. From what im reading, its actually not that bad but what does synthetic blend exactly mean? Like its not full synthetic??!?!

ANY name brand oil in 5W30 will work just fine as long as you change it regularly.

I do this, too, use the larger filter, Amsoil EA013.

Mine takes exactly 5 quarts with filter change. AFAIK synthetic blend is not full synthetic.

I can find no reference that can attribute that statement to Thomas Jefferson. The burden of proof lies with the original poster.

Good one!

I use Mobil 5w-30 with mobil1 filter...always have with my previous cars too....... One question...havent tested this theory out but.... If you use a small filter doesnt it cause a lower pressure in the lines??? (I never got to around putting an oil pressure gauges to test this out) just curious if anyone has info on this.

Larger filter=more filter media surface area=More oil flow though the filter=lower pressure in oil galleries TO the filter. Visey Versa with the small filter.

I'll have to do this next time. I picked up a Wix filter a few weeks ago for my first oil change in this car and the guy at the auto parts store asked me if it was for a 4-wheeler. That thing is ridiculously small.

I use German Castrol 0W-30 with a Wix filter.

the blend is exactly what it sounds like

http://www.valvoline.com/products/co...nd-motor-oil/4

some people make a huge deal about what oil to use and such

my dads 92 chevy truck had over 250k the last time I checked and the guy would run oil that was on sale, I dont think he ever spend more than $20 for filter and oil, truck ran great till he sold it. As long as you switch it out at your fine
