1st half or 2008 ? What happened to 2007? Dam another R&D Project! I've never seen a group (including myself) doing so many mods on relatively new high end cars.

2008 will be the re-buy opportunities on these cars - like the 280's and 300's were and still are, and just the beginning of what the aftermarket offerings will be. Until these cars are cheap enough for people to spend $15,000 and up on, easily, everything your buying now is technically R&D.

Only the best products will survive - and 5 years after a launch of an iconic model and brand - will come the true builders and products to guide the next 10 years.

The OEM stall speed is about 1800 rpm. You can verify this by stomping on the accelerator from a standing start and watching the tach. The engine rpm at which the car begins to move is close to the stall speed for that TC.

It wasn't the ECU that was holding you back, it was the fact that the engine has rather low torque at 1800 rpm and the effect you were seeing (as well as everyone else with an OEM TC) was the same as letting out the clutch on a stick at 1800 rpm. Not much happens. The engine is just not in its power range at that low rpm. Raising the stall speed allow the engine to move into a higher power band before the tranny engages.

Other posts have referred to the lockup speed which is the speed at which the tranny doesn't allow "any" slippage between the engine and the drive shaft.

Modified TC's are available from Level Ten in NJ and (I think) from Forged Internals.
