want to make 20+ hp

So, i like a nice round number, like 300 hp. how hard will it be to make an extra 20 hp (using mods obviously) with the g? i dont want forced induction, so it it even possible with bolt ons?

Type-R badge gives you 30hp. Nah, just BSing. To get 300whp, you'd probably have to do more than bolt-ons. I'm no expert in this, so don't quote me.

intake, spacer, exhaust = easy 20HP

I had a Stillen on mine and its rated at 25HP / 25 TQ, but with that, an intake and plenum spacer - you will have 20HP easily.

^well i know ill need forced induction to get 300 hp to the wheels (i have an 04, engine rated at 280, dont know what it is to the wheels, but its significantly less) so if i could just make 20 hp to the engine, that would be fine. its mostly for cost. i cant spend 30k on a whole FI set up

Using the term HP without specifying the rpm is meaningless. It show lack of understanding of the concept.

HP= Torque x RPM/5252 ...........obviously only at 5252 rpm are torque and HP equal

I was talking TQ @ crank/engine, not what it puts down to the wheels and I recommended plenum spacer / intake / exhaust to answer the OP original question, the the OP came back and clarified it being 20hp to the engine - so my answer is accurate based on his initial question. I did not go by the vendors listed gains but with those 3 mods for less then $1200 - you will have 20-25hp / torque easily.

Torque is force x distance (ft-lb). It's what turns the crankshaft.
Horsepower is torque x time (torque x rpm ÷ 5252)

Wel, I'm about to buy my first G35, it's an '03 with 5AT DG unfortunately. Couldn't find a 6MT and couldn't afford a 350Z, so this is what I'm stuck with. I'm definitely getting the pop charger, and 1/2 spacer, and an exhaust. Since I have the 5AT, would a torque converter be a good mod for a better launch?
