Loud rumbling metal noise?

After I start my car in the morning and let it warm up, when I shift from Park to R or D, I start to hear an annoying rumbling metal sound.

Once the car has been fully warmed up (driving for 15+ mins), the sound goes away.

Should I be worried about this? Is the problem fixable? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Is the noise present with the car rolling or not rolling after shifting into gear?

Have you checked your transmission fluid levels?

Both while moving and at a stop.

I have not checked my transmission fluid levels, no idea where the dip stick is.

I just hit 77k miles as well (no, I did not never check the fluid, I bought the car with 73k miles).

I have what sounds like the same noise on my 6mt. Mine knocks when starting and shuting down the enine too. While idling it just continuously rumbles. Seems to me like a motor mount. I'm gonna try to get it on a hoist tomorrow and see what i can coe up with. Will let you know.

I don't know abot the OP, but i don't think mine would be clear on a video. Not with any sub-hollywood setup at least. You can just hear and feel the rumble while its idling. The start up knock and shut down knock are more apparent, but so quick and you wouldnt be able to hear it over engine noise.

Hopefully i can get a better look on a hoist tomorrow.

I'll try and get a video. Usually happens during the cold for me, which is in the morning, which is when I'm trying to get to class with no time to make a vid...

Hah, but I understand a video will help. I'll try tomorrow.
