yeah, on Tuesday I went into Cerritos Infiniti for my second oil comsumption test and the guy, Hans, finally approved me for a new engine on monday. you're actually suppose to go in to check it at 1500 miles not 1000, but i guess it varies dealership to dealership. Theres a sheet that they use to measure your oil. I believe it goes by the miles you put on it at the time you bring it in. i brought it in between 1500-1750mi and it said if its at 10mm below the "H", its ok, over it = no good. He said that its at 10 or 11mm, but he'd just put me in for 14mm. (I guess he's tired of seeing me there).

now the question is, what can I do to prep the engine to make sure they're actually replacing it and not giving me the same engine? Mark with markers on certain places of the engine? I was also thinking of asking them to check the tranny to see why its slipping so much. Since the flywheel is under warranty, hopefully its that, but most likely its not.

How much of a quart or quarts does it burn every 1000 miles?

And I'm sure they'll give you a new engine lol, this is legal stuff, they'd get screwed hard, if they didn't change, when they put in an order to do so.

Seriously kenasaki, drive your car HARD (after warming it up) for hundreds of miles, see if it helps. You're getting a new engine anyway, why not experiment...
